Details
The Sky Portal design represents a gateway opening the room to the universe. The night sky ceiling effect within this panel is complemented by spotlights to provide a full choice of lighting options.
This panel is 1.35 m x 1.35 m. The panel has a two-layer effect, with the starry area sitting behind a plain panel. Glow lighting around the inner and outer edges of the Sky Portal design heightens the effect and four dimmable spotlights provide main lighting.
We have produced a design based on the Sky Portal to go above a hot tub in a spa, providing relaxing lighting for the spa’s guests to unwind underneath. This design works particularly well where it reflects the shape of a feature below - whether it’s the shape of the room or the furniture.

Installation

Electrical requirements
Ensure that the room has sufficient independent lighting circuits. Panels that function as main lighting as well as mood lighting, we recommend separate lighting circuits and wall switches for the two functions. The panel will be wired and constructed accordingly.
We recommend that the lighting circuits from the consumer unit or distribution board are comprised of twin and earth PVC insulated cable with a minimum conductor size of 1.5mm2.
To ensure the smooth operation of the panel, an appropriate protective device e.g. fuse or miniature circuit breaker should be installed at the consumer unit. We recommend a 10A type C MCB for this purpose. If the supply circuit to the ceiling panel is not dedicated, your electrician can advise on protection arrangements.

FAQs
Whats the difference between your LED and Fibre optic star ceiling panels?
Please refer to this page to compare the features of each option.
Can you make a custom panel for me?
Yes, you can request a design through either the website’s LED star ceiling product pages, gallery, or the „Contact Us” page. Even if you don’t have a firm idea of what want, just tell us your preferences and some basic information about the intended location of the Stellar Ceiling and we will design your Stellar Ceiling. When you’re happy to go ahead, we’ll start the manufacturing and your LED star ceiling will be ready for instalment in 7-8 weeks.
How complicated is the installation of the Stellar Ceiling?
Installation is quick, easy and clean. The LED starceiling is manufactured in our workshop in the EU and will be packed and delivered to you at your time of convenience when it’s ready. Installation takes a couple of hours, depending on the complexity of the Stellar Ceiling.
Where can you install the Stellar Ceiling panels?
The LED star ceiling panel is a suspended ceiling on its own that can be fitted on virtually any ceilings or wall unit. The average weight of the Stellar Ceiling is 8 kg (17.6 lbs) per square meters (10.7 square feet). For peace of mind, our installer will assess your site’s specifics, before your order is finalised.
I already have a suspended ceiling, can you fit the LEDs into that?
We manufacture the Stellar Ceiling panels in our workshop and install them on-site, to make as little mess as possible, therefore no, we don’t fit LEDs into your suspended ceiling, and we will install the Stellar Ceiling panel on it.
Do I need to get the Stellar Ceiling painted?
No, you don’t have to worry about the painting. The Stellar Ceiling will be painted in our workshop to the colour of your preference. We use high-quality Caparol and Dulux to obtain the best colour possible and you can choose any RAL colour. The painting consists of several layers:
2 layers coat
2 layers paint
2 layers waterproof and dirt repellent surface.
The three double-layer painting will ensure the perfectly homogenous surface. The waterproof and dirt-repellent layer will make cleaning really easy. The colour of the Starlight Ceiling can be selected at the design phase. We use high-quality Caparol and Dulux paint to obtain the best colour possible.
Do I need an electrician for the electrical wiring for the Stellar Ceiling?
No, you don’t need an electrician. Our installer team will do all the electrical work when fitting your Stellar Ceiling. Any additional electrical work or modification will be discussed at the initial visit in case you have special requirements.
How bright is the Stellar Ceiling?
We fit on average 150 LEDs into a square meter of Stellar Ceiling panel. This brightness is equivalent to a 20 watt conventional light bulb (approximately 225 lumens). That makes a 3 square meter panel’s brightness equivalent to a 60 watt conventional light bulb’s brightness (approximately 800 lumens).
Can I get a Stellar Ceiling panel with more brightness than generated by the LEDs?
You have several options. Your Stellar Ceiling can be embedded with spotlighting, LED ceiling lights or hidden LED rim lights. You can even combine these and can opt for colour changing LED rim light that further boosts the visual experience.
What happens if the LEDs stop working?
The panels can be removed from the ceiling and necessary maintenance work can be performed on them from the back of the panel. However, this is a very unlikely scenario and we haven't had such an issue so far. Even if an LED stopped working, it would be hardly visible as the LEDs are see-through and would still get light through the back of the panel.
